Sunday catchup

Mini Nut wants everyone to know, she's being a wonderful mama now! She just had to figure it out is all. Her little floppy eared buckling is doing very well.

This was Bean two days ago on the morning of the 8th...

And this was Bean later that day...

Photobucket

She also had a healthy buckling and he's huge!

Photobucket

Also her first kid. But she was after him right away, cleaning him, talking to him, and letting him nurse.

Photobucket

Our lambie is doing well too... She enjoyed the afternoon outside yesterday.

Izzie is 100% recovered, no more trouble with her leg at all, thankfully.

Yesterday we worked on ripping the old floor out of our old chicken coop. We haven't used it in years since we sold the majority of our birds, ducks, geese, and most of the chickens. Our current hens live in a coop we built in the barn. But since we'll have more birds this spring, we decided to move them back to the old coop and build new outdoor yards down by the garden for them.

We got most of the floor down today but this afternoon it turned to rain and thunderstorms so we were forced to quit early. If the weather is better tomorrow, we'll have the floor finished.

Bucket's doelings are the sweetest little girls, very quiet and cuddly. I caught them snuggling this afternoon.

And of course Bo is doing well, growing like a weed. He'll need to move to the barn as soon as we get something set up for him. It's going to be hard to move him out but he is starting to climb on all the furniture! He loves playing outside and played outside today while we filled up our woodbox on the deck.

He is always interested whenever we are eating breakfast or dinner, and you have to keep him out of your plate, this is his new thing. As soon as you sit down with your food, he's trying to get into it before you even get a bite! I've never seen a kid interested in people food before. Of course, he doesn't get any, but he wants it, which I find odd.

I think maybe it's the influence of the dogs?

Photobucket

Kevin and I went out last night after work, to our creek. We spotted a porcupine along the way...

Photobucket

And once we got to the creek, a Muskrat launched himself out into the water, I guess he didn't want to share our company...

Photobucket

See him going into the weeds?

Photobucket

Now that the weather is nice, we'll haul our canoe down there so we can spend an evening out on the creek. It's lovely there year round, but it will be fun to get out and canoe again this summer.

Photobucket

We shared a drink together before heading home.

Photobucket

When we got home, we had company.

Tonight we are just staying inside and staying dry. Since it's raining outside, I've been working on laundry and taking some time to catch my breath. It's hard to believe we had our first thunderstorm today, although not major. It is suppose to warm up a lot tomorrow and storm again, so we may get hit worse tomorrow. But we'll have to wait and see.

I forgot to add that the frogs are back to singing at night and the Timberdoodles must be mating, all I can hear in the dark when I take the dogs outside to pee is there funny little squeaking. I heard three tonight. It's lovely to have these signs of spring. I cannot wait for the turtles to come out and start laying their eggs and the for the fireflies to return!

Haaaa! I love that first photo - what a riot! It sounds like you had a most wonderful (and productive) weekend. I can't imagine what it would be like to just run across a porcupine - that would be amazing.
I just saw on your sidebar that you live on 700 (!!) acres - wow!
Love that you have so many rescues... I've got a number of those myself. :-)
